Healthier Wealthier Families (HWF)

Despite the fact that Swedish household have experienced an improved general economic standard, this is not true for all families and households. There are today large differences between socioeconomic groups.

The purpose of the study is to test a new way of work, where nurses at child health care (CHC) centres ask questions about finances to visiting parents/caregivers. If the parent/caregiver experience financial difficulty, or face a risk of financial difficulty, they can receive support. Through HWF, parents/caregivers can get in contact with a free financial counselling service in their municipality. The goal of the study is to test a more preventative way of work, to reduce the number of children living in families who experiencing financial difficulties.
